First Student Startup Challenge to take place at Sofia Airport Center on October 17, 2014
Several prospect student startup teams in Bulgaria were identified through a selection process, including the Junior Achievement programme, and invited to join the first edition of the Student Startup Challenge. Each team has their own business plan in a field of their choice.
Student startups from two departments from the Sofia University, the Technical University in Sofia and AUBG will participate.
The 6 student teams will present their business plans in 15 min slots each and then will respond to question & answers (Q&A) session from the jury and the audience, over 5-10 minutes for each team.
Winners will receive:
1) an award of 4,500 leva
2) exposure to potential employers
3) coaching of 4 half days by managers of NEVEQ and LaunchHub, the two early stage investment funds, in their offices in Sofia. The two investment funds have invested in more than 60 companies so far.
Guests include CEO level executives of multinational companies, active in Bulgaria, USA, France, Switzerland, UK, Netherlands and others. The language used will be English.
The jury will consist of Diana Nikolaeva, Partner at EY Bulgaria, in charge of M&A advisory; Dimiter Dimitrov, VP Product and Innovation at SAP AG; Stephane Gantchev, Partner at LaunchHub; Paris Childress, Google Business Development Manager; and Pavel Ezekiev, Partner at NEVEQ.
The venue is in the main building of Sofia Airport Center, our event host and co-organizer, from 15h to 1730h on 17/10, Friday.
